As an American company, we’re proud to announce our partnership with SuperFast Vets, an online endurance sports store that provides cycling and other endurance sports gear to military personnel and their immediate families at discounted rates. If you’re an active or retired member of the United States military, then you’ll definitely want to know about this program. Be sure to check out their website for all of the details—but here’s some more information from the organization’s founder, Lt. Colonel William Jacobus, USAF, Ret.
Jacobus: SuperFast Vets is an online endurance sports store exclusively for military families and veterans. We focus on connecting great companies wanting to serve our military with validated military members and veterans. For our partner companies, we provide a method to salute our troops with a military discount, without having to create a process to validate military status themselves.
Jacobus: We grew out of the US Military Endurance Sports Club that I and three other veterans founded in 2010. We began selling equipment within the club for our sponsors and partner companies, but split into a separate organization in 2018 so that we could serve our entire military and veteran community worldwide.
Jacobus: All military members and their immediate families, as well as all veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces are able to become members of SuperFast Vets and shop the discounts in our online store. We ask all applicants to validate their Military Status before granting access to the store. We serve the needs of service members and veterans within the United States, our allied soldiers stationed in the U.S., and American troops stationed overseas.
Jacobus: Right now, we have over 4,000 active members and are growing by roughly 20% per year.
Jacobus: SuperFast Vets members are able purchase discounted products from over 20 of the top cycling brands including: Felt Bicycles, Shimano, ENVE, Wahoo, Chris King, GU, Crank Bros, Schwalbe, Fizik, Lazer, Zealios, Continental, Brooks, Concept 2, ISM, and others. All of our orders ship directly from the manufacturer or our warehouse in Bend, Oregon, to the customer at home (except Felt Bicycles, with whom we partner in an industry leading Click-and-Collect model through their dealer network). SFV's qualified technical staff helps the military member decide on the right bike for them and the sale is completed within SuperFast Vets. Felt Bicycles ships the bike within a few days to the Felt dealer for inspection and build, and the service member picks up the built bike for a “happy new bike day” at the shop. In the case of overseas personnel, or if there is not a Felt dealer near a remote installation, SFV coordinates the delivery, inspection, and build at one of our partners and ships the bike directly to the member at home.
There's never been a better time to incorporate indoor cycling into your training regimen. If you’ve been looking to set up your own dedicated space for riding your bike indoors, and create what we affectionately call a “pain cave," then check out some of these great indoor setups for some inspiration.
To get the most out of your time and energy during your indoor cycling sessions, you should incorporate some structured workouts. It's always key to build an overall plan with a reputable coaching service. But to get you started, here are some great workouts that anyone can tailor to their overall plan.
Many cyclists and triathletes used to look at indoor trainers as a convenient way to warm up before a race or a necessary evil for getting in a workout when they couldn't ride outside. But today, modern indoor trainer brands use the latest technologies to better simulate the sensations of riding outside on the road.
