Outdoor Concept 63, organizer of the Festival Outdoor de la Vallee Verte (FOVV), has partnered with Felt Bicycles for the event’s Sancy Gravel Race. The California-based cycling brand will serve as the event’s title sponsor. Together, Outdoor Concept 63 and Felt Bicycles are looking forward to supporting the growth of gravel cycling and gravel bike racing in France with this new and exciting event, which will take place in the Puy de Dôme area in the heart of the famed Auvergne region. The weekend-long event takes place June 19-20, 2021.
"We are proud to join with Felt Bicycles for our race, as they’ll be more than just the title sponsor, but a true partner in helping us to develop this world-class gravel event,” says Francis Breuil-Bosdure, president of Outdoor Concept 63. "Gravel bikes developed by Felt are versatile, agile, and fun, and they’ll be ideal machines for our event’s unique course and incredible terrain. Likewise, the familial spirit and unbridled commitment of the Felt brand correspond perfectly with the values that we aim to put forward at this festival.”
The Festival Outdoor de la Vallee Verte will offer a weekend wholly dedicated to outdoor sports, including the Sancy Gravel Race, as well as paddle sports and trail running activities. The gravel bike course presents three loops with varying terrain, and are made up primarily of gravel roads along with some single track sections. Together, the three loops will cover a total of 157 kilometers and 4,000 meters of elevation gain. The race will take place in glorious summer weather, and will start at sunrise and finish at sunset. The goal of the event is to enjoy as many of the loops as possible; those who complete the greatest number of loops will be rewarded with prizes.
Felt Bicycles is dedicated to creating the best-performing drop-bar bikes in the world, and the brand will be prioritizing its new gravel and adventure bikes for 2021 and beyond.
“We believe that racing and adventure are inalienable components of the cycling experience,” says Anaël Renault, European events manager for Felt Bicycles. “These principles help us produce the best bikes and allow us to share our passion for cycling with athletes all over the world. Our new partnership with the Festival Outdoor de la Vallee Verte allows us to continue supporting the growth of gravel cycling in France, as well as support all outdoor sports enthusiasts during this unique event. Outdoor athletes from all walks of life share the same love of nature, respect for the environment, and a passion for enjoying all that life has to offer—all of which are important for our brand.”
