Felt Bicycles designs its bicycles in compliance with standards set by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) which call for a minimum of 4-6mm of clearance on either side of the tire. Those standards are set, in part, for safety reasons. Felt Bicycles recognizes that some riders may still want even wider tires for certain uses resulting in less clearance on each side of the tire, but they do so at their own risk. Keep in mind each tire maker’s proclaimed widths may vary, even when marked the same size. And, keep in mind that rim width also affects tire width.

AR series (2009 - 2019).  Some 25's will fit depending on the rim but, in most cases, a 23mm is the max.

AR series (2020+). The AR can accept up to a 30mm-wide tire, measured, per ISO standards.

Brougham series. depending on the brand of tire and wheels (if you aren't using the stock ones) you may be able to fit a 30mm tire.

FR (rim-brake) series.  The bikes come with 25’s with passing clearance.  We have seen many 28’s work (without proper clearance on each side) but it depends on tire maker and rim width if you have switched out the rims from stock.

FR Disc series. ISO standards dictate that there should be sufficient clearance of at least 4mm on both sides of a tire that accurately measures 28mm wide when full inflated. Based on these standards, we cannot therefore recommend any tire that measures wider than 28mm. Different rim and tire combinations will produce varying widths, due to discrepancies and differences among manufacturers, models, inner rim widths and other factors.

F series. The bikes come with 23’s with passing clearance.  We have seen many 25’s work (but without proper clearance each side) it does depend on tire maker and rim width if you have switched out the rims from stock.

V series. Officially, to pass ISO with a 42 clearance circle, we can only recommend a 30mm tire. However, depending on tire and rim combinations, in some cases 32-34 labeled tire may fit.

Verza Speed Aluminum series. Officially, to pass ISO with a 44 clearance circle, we can recommend a 32mm tire. However, depending on tire and rim combinations, in some cases 34-36 labeled tire may fit, the closest fit is between the chainstays, we cannot check every rim/tire configuration.

Verza Speed Carbon series. The bikes comes with 28mm tires that give 4mm of clearance, which is required by bicycle makers under ISO guidelines. We have seen many tires labeled '30c' work (but without 4mm clearance each side), so it will depend on tire maker and rim width if you have switched out the rims from stock.

VR series. Officially, to pass ISO with a 42 clearance circle, we can only recommend a 30mm tire. However, depending on tire and rim combinations, in some cases 32-34 labeled tire may fit.

Z (rim brake) series. The bikes comes with 25’s that give 4mm of clearance which is required by bicycle makers under ISO guidelines . We have seen many 28’s work (but without 4mm clearance each side) it does depend on tire maker and rim width if you have switched out the rims from stock.

Z (disc brake) series. The pinch point is actually at the chainstay bridge. There is a small bump that fills in where the old rim caliper attached. This bump hits most 27mm tires. 25mm tires is the max in most cases.

IA (rim brake) series. 23’s will work. Also keep in mind you can pull the wheel back a few mm in the horizontal dropout to help frame clearance as long as the brakes still reach and have clearance. The front brake may be the biggest issue if trying to squeeze a 25 in but have seen many 25’s work.

IA (disc brake) series.  Up to 28mm.

DA series. Up to 25mm, measured at the widest part of a fully inflated tire.

B series. 23's are almost always max on a B series. With 25’s, we have seen riders pull the rear wheel back to clear the seat tube but then you run into brake reach issues.

S series. 23's are almost always max on a , depending on the tire maker and rim used 25’s may fit but under the minimum suggested clearance.

Breed and Broam series. Max size for both models is 650b (27.5) x 2.1 or 700c x 45c. Breed 650 x 47, shorter no quite as tall. Broam 700 x 40, taller but not as wide

FX carbon and alloy (-2014). 42.5mm – 12mm (6 each side) would be 30mm tire.

FX carbon and alloy (2015+). 46mm – 12mm (6 each side) would be 34mm tire.

TK FRD.  total width of rim + tire, 23mm (4mm clearance on each side)

Compulsion. 2.6 ISO

Decree. 2.6 ISO

Edict. 2.35 ISO

Doctrine. 2.35 ISO

Surplus. 3.0 ISO

Decree V1 (2016-2017). many 2.4’s pass ISO

DD. recommend 4.5, have seen 4.8 fit but non ISO.  2020 DD increase from 4.5 to 4.8.

Dispatch. recommend 2.25 ISO, max 2.3 depending on the tire brand.
